MCxMN Launch Party!

SO LAFiona LeahyComment

One of my favorite LA designers and sweet friend, Marrin Costello, launched her new collaboration collection with *~celebrity~* wardrobe stylist Mercedes Natalia. Pretty pearls, delicate chains with a feminine chic vibe. The collection is AMAZING. Can I have one of everything? K thx. The styling in their lookbook is drool-worthy and after flipping through it you'll have to accidentally leave it at your boyfriend's house with everything you want circled in it. Really though.

The event took place at my go-to spot in LA to go get my makeup done, the Nars boutique on Melrose. Super cute if you've never been, totally better than going to a department store makeup counter. Here are a few of my favorites from the MCxMN collection (featured above): Polkadot Bralette ($238), Thread Earrings ($48), and Pearl Drop Lariat ($88). Check out her entire line here

Here are a few photos from the pretty pretty event. Thank you Marrin so much for having me!! xx

When In Rome....

TRAVEL, MY LOOKSFiona LeahyComment

Totally fell in love with Italy. A world where gluten-free doesn't exist and it is totally necessary to try a new flavor of gelato everyday. One of my favorite areas in Rome is Via del Boschetto. This is a trendy neighborhood in an ancient city. It is packed with pop-up floral stores, handmade jewelry, and my all-time favorite: vintage stores. The vintage shopping here is unreal. You will find designer vintage treasures in every other store. I would of shopped a lot more than I did if I wasn't backpacking across the country, but I just HAD to have this coat the moment I saw it. It's vintage Yves Saint Laurent. YSL forever is my favorite designer, and my first love. This coat is a alpaca, mohair and wool blend. Since the brand makeover of YSL turned into Saint Laurent Paris in 2012 due to the new creative director, I actually melt every time I see a vintage YSL label.

I found this coat at a small funky boutique, Pulp. And I still have nightmares about the Moschino floral sweater that I didn't end up buying. It'll probably haunt me for a couple more months to be completely honest.

Coat worn with all black everythaaang underneath, and Nikes since I seriously just walked all over the city all day. I would never wear workout shoes with this coat, but it kinda looks street style hip in some weird way. Right?

Violet Grey on Melrose Place

A DAY IN THE LYFE, SO LAFiona LeahyComment

This place is total hidden gem just waiting to be discovered. Was on Melrose Place window-shopping seeing the new collection at Chloe and a gal who worked there told me I should check out Violet Grey across the way. This is the cutest little shop that has all the best beauty products used within the industry. They carry the best of every brand from Tom Ford, Mac Cosmetics, Nars, Dior, YSL and so many more. This is a one-stop destination to get the finest must-have products without have to shuffle through an entire line on various counters. This is so much better than be overwhelmed by bright florescent lights at a department store.

All sales representatives are make-up artists themselves, and you can make appointments to get your makeup done here too! I was greeted and chatted by Merrady, who was very knowledgeable about all the products on the shelves. Loved this little store and cant wait to come back soon! xx

Restoration Hardware Store Opening on Melrose 10/22/14

I know what you’re thinking…Restoration Hardware is a furniture store. But let me tell ya, this isn’t an ordinary furniture store. This place is absolutely unreal. It’s the kind of place you dream of having slumber parties in even though you’re in your mid-twenties. Like I'm 87.3% positive that Grey Gatsby is living somewhere in there. Each room has a unique look. There are huge windows that lead into balconies that overlook all of West LA. I didn’t make it to the top level because there was extra security because apparently Paris Hilton and her gal pals were up there (lol idk). This three story massive store is located on Melrose Ave across the street from Urth Café and next door to Kitson. The interior decorations are elegant and cutting-edge all at the same time. The store opening included wine tasting from their very own cellar in-store and live music. If you’re ever in the Melrose District this is a must-see destination. Restoration Hardware is taking over.

I am wearing a black dress by James Perse (my go-to LBD), fur coat from Rehab Clothing (its faux fur, don't chu worry), and shoes from one of my favorite Aussie brands Senso. Wearing the lip color Heroine from Mac Cosmetics. It’s a matte and it makes me feel like a diva and an alien in all the best ways. You might need it too. P.S. Babe in matching fur with me is my BFF/roommate, Birdie Lyons.
